Meet Albina Brahimi: A Taste of Resilience, Culture, and Culinary Passion
Albina Brahimi’s love for cooking began in the heart of Kosovo, where she spent her childhood watching her mother prepare meals that brought their family together. At just 10 years old, she shaped her first loaf of bread—an unforgettable moment marked by the joy of seeing her mother take the first bite. From that day forward, Albina knew food would be her lifelong calling.
Raised in Glogovc, Albina's culinary roots are deeply influenced by the flavors and traditions of her heritage. She honed her skills through classic recipes passed down through generations, each one crafted to bring warmth and happiness to those around her.
But Albina’s journey has not been without hardship. In 1999, the Kosovo War forced her to flee her home and seek a new beginning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Through resilience and determination, she built a new life—using food not only as a means of survival, but as a way to heal, connect, and thrive. Her dishes quickly captured the hearts of locals, leading her to open Jabby's Pizza, a beloved Baton Rouge eatery that expanded to three locations thanks to its unique flavor and community atmosphere.
Today, Albina continues to make waves in the culinary world.
Her creations are bold, soulful, and deeply personal—each plate telling a story of perseverance and passion. Inspired by her journey, she dreams of traveling the globe, learning from world-class chefs, and one day meeting her culinary idol, Gordon Ramsay.
